About the Southside Community Association (SCA)

The Southside Community Association (SCA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the rich history and cultural legacy of Flagstaff’s Southside neighborhood while promoting community development and well-being. We strive to create a vibrant, inclusive community where residents and businesses can thrive.

Our mission is to empower residents, foster resilience, and build a sustainable future through education, cultural programming, and community engagement. At the heart of our work are four core programs: the Resilience Hub, Resilient Black Roots, The Neighborhood Plan, and the Murdoch Center. These programs provide essential services, celebrate cultural diversity, and address the unique needs of our community.

SCA also actively collaborates with local partners to ensure that the Southside remains a safe, prosperous, and welcoming place for all who live and work here.
